HC4A has been supplying backpacks and school supplies to the homeless community in Austin since 2010. Unfortunately, things are different this year due to the Covid19 pandemic, but we are trying our best to raise funds and awareness via online events and activities. We are conducting an essay competition for kids so that they can be involved in this noble cause. We are looking for young creative writers to submit their essays for a chance to win prizes and certificates.
Category and Eligibility:
There will be 3 categories and a winner from each category
Category 1: Age group 5-7 years
Essay topic: What do you miss most about school?
Category 2: Age group 8-10 years
Essay topic: Your life during the pandemic
Category 3: Age group 11-14 years
Essay topic: How has quarantine changed you?
Please submit your essays before May 31st for a chance to win some cash prizes and participation certificates. So hurry and get your creative juices flowing!

How Essays will be Judged:
A panel of judges will judge the essay. The entries will be judged on the content, creativity and word limit guideline and winners will be informed by email or parent’s phone. Winning essays will be published on hc4a page.
Disclaimer: Judgement process is confidential and decisions are at the sole discretion of the HC4A Essay Committee and Executive Board of HC4A. Winners’ essays will be shared on our social media sites as well. (If you would not like your child’s name to be disclosed, please let us know at the time of submission.)
