An Evening of Storytelling, Scholarship, and Shared Humanity
On Saturday, June 21, HC4A invites you to a one-of-a-kind cinematic fundraiser — the Austin Gala Premiere of Tanvi The Great, the latest directorial masterpiece by internationally celebrated actor, filmmaker, and humanitarian Anupam Kher.
This special evening is more than a movie screening — it is a gathering of purpose, inspiration, and empowerment. It celebrates resilience, self-belief, and the unseen brilliance in every human being — the very values HC4A’s scholarships champion every day.
🎟️ Join us as art and action converge in a night that promises unforgettable storytelling, heartfelt community, and a rare opportunity to meet the legendary Anupam Kher himself.
About the Film: A Universal Story, Intimately Told
Inspired by the real-life spirit of his autistic niece, Tanvi, Tanvi The Great is a love letter to those who are “different, but no less.” In the words of its director, “She had a voice that could quiet chaos, a presence that made life feel simpler, purer.”
This emotionally powerful film follows the journey of a young girl who, against all odds and perceptions, turns hope into triumph. It is a story of love, resilience, and the unbreakable human spirit, crafted with honesty and depth by Anupam Kher — a man whose storytelling legacy spans more than 500 roles across Bollywood and Hollywood, from Silver Linings Playbook to The Big Sick and Bend It Like Beckham.
Why HC4A? Why This Premiere?
Much like Tanvi, the students HC4A supports are rewriting their futures — often quietly, often overlooked — but always bravely.
Take Jessica, who is pursuing a Dental Hygiene degree to create stability and purpose in her life. Or Eileen, a teenage mom working toward a career in early childhood education. Or Grace, a Native American student from the Navajo Nation who moved to Austin to pursue health science — bringing her dreams, her courage, and her two dogs along with her.
Through your support, HC4A is able to offer scholarships without barriers — open to students regardless of background, ethnicity, neurodiversity, or life circumstances. Tanvi The Great mirrors that same belief: that every mind matters and every dream deserves the chance to take root.
A Night to Remember: Anupam Kher Live in Austin
This is not only your chance to see a world-class film before its national release, but to do so in the presence of its legendary creator. Anupam Kher will be joining the evening for an intimate conversation and audience interaction. As one of India’s most honored and prolific artists — with accolades including the Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri, and two National Film Awards — his appearance in Austin is an event not to be missed.
