MISSION — What is this & why “AI with All”?

What is “AI with All”?

The “AI with All” Hackathon is a free, one-day civic tech event held on Sep 26–27, in support of the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. It runs at two sites so more students can take part.

About 250 students each day — grades 8–12 — form teams of 3–5 and use no-code AI tools to tackle real community challenges. No coding background required. No prior tech experience. Just curiosity, mentorship, and purpose.

Every team is guided by a frontline expert in their challenge area. Every student closes the day helping hand 150 refurbished laptops to local veteran families — so the day ends not with who won, but with who was served.

Why “AI with All”

The name is intentional. AI is reshaping healthcare, education, and many parts of everyday life.

“AI with All” means every student gets a seat at that table. Because when AI is built with communities — not just for them — the technology can better serve the people who use it.

Who we honor

September 11 is the National Day of Service and Remembrance. We honor the first responders, recovery crews, trauma nurses, hospital teams, air traffic controllers, everyday volunteers, and veterans who rose to serve — roles that protect every community, including ours. Each challenge area is inspired by their sacrifice.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Do students need to know how to code?

A: No. All challenge areas use no-code AI tools. “AI with All” means everyone belongs, regardless of technical background.

Q: How big can a team be?

A: Teams are 3–5 students, pre-formed by your school or youth organization before the event.

Q: Can a school send more than one team?

A: Yes. Multiple teams from the same school are welcome; each chooses its own challenge area.

Q: What grade levels are eligible?

A: Grades 8–12. JROTC cadets are especially encouraged.

Q: Is there a registration fee?

A: No. The event is 100% free for all students and schools.

Q: Which site should we register for?

A: Round Rock High School hosts Day 1 (Sep 26); Manor High School hosts Day 2 (Sep 27). Register for whichever day works. If both work, let us know.

Q: What is the Service Hour?

A: Near the end of each day, students pause the competition to help hand 150 refurbished laptops to local veteran families. It’s the emotional centerpiece of the day.

Q: How do I become a Pod Leader?

A: Apply using the Pod Leader form. You’ll guide student teams in your area, bring a Partner, and receive a short prep call. Single-day commitment.
